1.0 Organizational Overview and Background

The Evas Mugisa Orland (EMO) Foundation is a Ugandan non-governmental organization (NGO) grounded in biblical principles, dedicated to empower underprivileged children and communities within the East African Community (EAC). The Foundation focuses on providing educational opportunities and community empowerment initiatives, beginning with Uganda and Burundi, with the vision of expanding throughout the EAC's eight member countries.

1.1 Foundational Background

The founder, a devout follower of Christ Jesus and the word of God was inspired by biblical principles of serving those in need (Matthew 25:31-46, 1Timothy 5:7-8, 1 John 3:16-17, Isaiah 1:17, Psalms 82:3-4, Isaiah 58:7, Deuteronomy 10:18-19, James 1:26-7 & 2:15-16 - See Appendix 2 for full text). Evas Mugisa Orland believes that education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty.

The Founder, a successful entrepreneur is driven by a deep calling to use her blessings to uplift children and improve their communities. Recognizing the transformative power of education, the EMO Foundation supports needy children with tuition and scholastic materials at the primary, secondary, and university levels, with a special focus on exceptionally talented children in sports, academics, and those living with disabilities.

Beyond educational support, EMO Foundation is committed to community empowerment through initiatives addressing gender mainstreaming, health by provision of clean water (borehole drilling in Burundi), sports promotion, food security, counseling, and climate change mitigation. The Foundation anchors on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations (UN) in 2015. While operating within a legal framework, EMO Foundation's work is deeply rooted in biblical principles. The Founder believes that supporting children through education is a biblical duty and support is extended to all qualifying students regardless of religious background.] ]

EMO Foundation is registered with the Ugandan National NGO Bureau and the Companies Act 2013 (Act No. 1 of 2013) and is pursuing charitable organization status under the Income Tax Act (Cap. 340) to maximize resource allocation for beneficiaries. A Board of Directors comprised of individuals with expertise in education, finance, and non-profit management oversees the Foundation's strategic direction, financial management, and legal and ethical compliance.

To empower underprivileged children by providing access to quality education, fostering their innate talents, and nurturing them into God-fearing, responsible, self-sufficient citizens; mentoring them through exposure to life-changing opportunities to overcome adversity, achieve a brighter future, and foster self-reliance and community transformation.

1)To raise awareness of the importance of education for all children in the EAC, advocating for policies that promote access and inclusion;

2)To provide scholarships, tuition assistance, and funding for scholastic materials to ensure access to quality education;

3)To collaborate with schools, communities, and stakeholders to create a comprehensive and sustainable support system for students guided by biblical principles with emphasis on Godly values and Godly character;

4)To offer additional support programs like tutoring, after-school programs, workshops, borehole drilling, sports development, and counseling services to bridge learning gaps and enhance academic performance;

Her extensive experience in community development, particularly within NGOs like UWESO, Care International, and Plan International, is invaluable. Joselene's expertise spans microfinance, governance, financial management, policy development, research, and participatory methodologies, making her adept at leading and guiding the foundation's initiatives.

Mr. Owen Atwi

dedicated Social Worker

Owen has a Bachelor's in Social Work and Social Administration. Owen's responsibilities at EMO Foundation involve providing social support, counseling, needs assessments, advocacy, and coordinating community development and mentorship programs. His strong organizational and communication skills, honed through prior experience with Africa Renewal Ministries and as an Associate Pastor, ensure effective beneficiary support.

Programme Manager

Neema is a results-oriented Human Resource Management graduate with a background in HR practices, marketing, and sales. Her passion for self-development and keen enthusiasm drive her commitment to achieving organizational goals.

Nathan brings a strong background in procurement, volunteer management, partnership development, and marketing. His experience at both Evas Mugisa Orland Foundation and Extreme Adventure Park, combined with his analytical and communication skills, are essential for expanding the foundation's reach.
